Designation Ceremonies
July 5th, 2006

"This is the culmination of more than three years of hard work and determination
by our staff, Board of Directors and the communities." said Theresa Stevens, Executive Director of Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services.  "We have looked forward to this significant day for a long time as it acknowledges our ability to take care of our own children.  This day is recognized as an important interim measure until the implementation of our own Niioogaboo Abinoojii Inakonigewin."

The Minister of Children and Youth Services, Mary Anne Chambers, will personally attend the Ceremonies and Celebrations planned for July 5th in Naotkamegwanning (Whitefish Bay) First Nation.   Invitations have been mailed to other service providers, Caregivers, Chiefs and honoured guests.

There will also be a sod turning ceremony in Wauzhushk Onigum Nation at 6:00 pm that day as they have received approval to proceed on construction of a new agency complex for us.
