The Family Services Committee exists in our communities as a responsible group of concerned Band members, who promote the ongoing development and delivery of child welfare services to its members.  The Family Services Committee will provide direct input into the development of local community standards and guidelines in order to promote the delivery and develop of Community Care Standards.

The Committee provides support and assistance in the development of service plans with the Family Services Worker, whose role is to assist family members to help themselves and each other to care for their children, according to Band values, standards, practices and customs.  Maintaining an Anishinaabe child's cultural identity, language and sense of belonging must be the main focus.
